The region is served by two major health care systems, St. Mary's/Duluth Clinic Health System and Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi. In addition, the area is served by numerous private practice physicians located in smaller clinics, as well as by many metropolitan-based consultants. Dentistry and orthodontic specialty clinics are available in almost every community in the region and psychiatric care, chiropractic clinics and chemical dependency clinics are also easily accessible throughout the region. Work ForceAs the labor market tightens, employers are facing increasing difficulty in recruiting skilled workers in metro areas, and companies looking to fill open employment positions are beginning to look toward northeastern Minnesota. The people in northeastern Minnesota are known for their work ethic, dedication and loyalty to employers. The Minnesota State Planning Agency reports that the region?s employee-turnover percentage rate is significantly lower than other parts of Minnesota and the nation.
